Le Petit Saint Vincent Les Poyeux is a 2023 Cabernet Franc from Saumur-Champigny in the Loire Valley. It comes from a 0.85 hectare parcel of 60 year old vines facing southwest. The wine is fermented in concrete vats and aged for twelve months in neutral 225-liter barrels.
Dominique Joseph, known to friends as "Pelo," is the fourth generation to lead Domaine Le Petit Saint Vincent. He lives in Varrains, in the heart of the appellation, with Antoine Sanzay and Thierry Germain of Domaine des Roches Neuve down the block and Clos Rougeard in the next town. The domaine farms 13 hectares, all but one planted to Cabernet Franc, in clay and limestone soils over tuffeau. Dominique has led it since 1990 and has farmed organically since at least then, with certification arriving in 2010.
