Les Vignes Oubliées Terrasses du Larzac is a 2019 red wine from the Terrasses du Larzac appellation in France's Languedoc-Roussillon. The vineyards sit on the Larzac plateau, where high altitude and schist and sandstone soils give fresh, delicate wines with silky tannins and the garrigue aromas typical of the Languedoc.
Les Vignes Oubliées is a boutique cooperative, a self-described collective of small farmers, based around the village of Saint Privat, less than an hour northwest of Montpellier. Its terraced vineyards sit at 350 meters. Winemaker Jean-Baptiste Granier works year-round with the four vignerons who supply his fruit. He founded the project with Olivier Jullien in 2009 and has run it alone since 2011, using natural, hands-off methods.
