"Vin pur jus" is Michel's philosophy. There are zero additions (including SO2) and the wines are generally low in alcohol (11-12%), aged for long periods in old barrel (mostly foudre), and are released when Michel believes they are ready (and stable). These are light, ethereal Beaujolais made by a true farmer; his steep, high-density, 6ha vineyard in Vauxrenard is worked only by hand or with horse-drawn plows. Michel is very well respected amongst his peers, and his wines can be found in many of the great 'bars a vins' throughout France.
