Morey Blanc Charmes-Chambertin Grand Cru is a 2023 Pinot Noir from Burgundy, France, at 13% ABV. It has a bright morello cherry-red color and a silky, elegant texture. Raspberry and redcurrant lead, sometimes moving toward stone fruit and spices. The tannins are harmonious and refined, with delicacy and complexity.
Morey-Blanc is the small negociant company Pierre Morey founded in 1992, after the metayage agreement with Domaine des Comtes Lafon expired. Morey previously served as manager and cellar master at Domaine Leflaive. The company's appellations complement those of his own domaine, including Aloxe-Corton, Corton-Charlemagne, Meursault 1er Cru Charmes, Montrachet, and Saint-Aubin. Fruit and musts are bought from growers under rigorous terms, and the wines are made in the Morey cellars in the style of the Domaine wines. His daughter Anne Morey co-manages both Morey-Blanc and Domaine Pierre Morey.
