Nicolas Maillart Platine is a non-vintage Extra Brut Champagne from the Premier Cru vineyards of Champagne, France. It is made from Pinot Noir and Chardonnay.
The Maillart family's vine-growing can be traced back to 1753, when their ancestors grew vines in the neighboring village of Chamery. A document from 1533 refers to a "measure of vines" mapped out by Pierre Maillart, a sworn surveyor working in Chamery for Saint Nicaise abbey. Nicolas, the ninth generation, returned to the family in 2003 after studying engineering and oenology. He carries on an almost three hundred year-old tradition and holds to the house philosophy of bringing out the full potential of Champagne's terroir in his wines.
