Paolo Petrilli Cacc'e Mmitte di Lucera Motta del Lupo is a 2024 red wine from Puglia, Italy, made from Uva di Troia, Sangiovese, Montepulciano and Bombino Bianco. The grapes are hand harvested, and the wine is aged in wooden vats.
The Petrilli estate sits in the Daunia area of northern Puglia, near Lucera, on the site of a centuries-old settlement known as La Motticella or Motta della Regina. Paolo Petrilli's grandfather bought it in the early twentieth century with his wife Teresa's dowry. Paolo and Paola Petrilli are known for organic tomatoes, and the whole property has been ICEA certified organic since 2008. They released their first wines in 2002 and limit production to what they can vinify from their own vines. The vineyards have stony soil, southern exposure and native ground cover, with no international varieties planted.
