Pierre Peters Les Montjolys Cuvée Spéciale Brut is a Blanc de Blancs Champagne made from Chardonnay. It is clear yellow with green hints and a fine, regular mousse. The nose opens on white flowers and freshly baked bread, then moves to citrus, with biscuit, hazelnut and a vivid chalky minerality as it airs. The attack is pure and intense, with green apple giving way to lemon confit, linden blossom and sweet spices.
The Pierre Péters estate sits in the Côte des Blancs, in the village of Le Mesnil sur Oger. It has been a family house for six generations and has made Grand Cru Blanc de Blancs Champagnes since 1919. As a grower-producer, they use only fruit from their own vineyards, just over 19 hectares of Chardonnay, mainly in Le Mesnil sur Oger, Oger, Avize and Cramant. The family uses its own mass selection of vines, which now average 30 years old, and adapts its cultivation each year with respect for the environment.
