Blend of more than 30 indigenous varieties, including Touriga Nacional, Touriga Franca, Tinta Roriz, Tinta Amarela, Tinto Cao, Souzao, Tinta Barroca. All are Type A grapes from old vines, grown in the sub-region of Cima Corgo. The grapes are sorted at the entrance of the cellar and partially destemmed. Fermentation in lagares (traditional Portuguese concrete vessels) for two days under temperature control. Intense pumping over and maceration for a further two days and fortification to 20% with the addition of grape spirit. Part of this port is stored in stainless steel tanks for 2 years, and part stays in oak vats. No filtration or stabilization.
