This is the 2022 Railsback Frères Cabernet Sauvignon Roman Ceremony, a red wine made from Cabernet Sauvignon in the Santa Ynez Valley of California.
Railsback Frères began in 2015 as a rosé project by brothers Lyle and Eric Railsback. They call their rosé "Les Rascasses" (scorpion fish in French) as an homage to Lulu Peyraud of Domaine Tempier in Bandol. Lyle spent twelve years in national sales for importer Kermit Lynch before focusing on this project. Eric started Lieu Dit wines in Santa Barbara and owns Verve Wine in New York City and San Francisco. Two years after their first vintage, they partnered with Presqu'ile Winery in Santa Maria, where they now make their wines using only wild, native yeast fermentation. Alongside the rosé, they make small lots of Southern French varieties, including Vermentino, Carignan and Mourvèdre.
