Railsback Frères Roman Ceremony is a 2022 Sauvignon Blanc from the Santa Ynez Valley in California.
Railsback Frères began in 2015 as a rosé project by brothers Lyle and Eric Railsback. They call their rosé "Les Rascasses" (scorpion fish in French) as an homage to Lulu Peyraud of Domaine Tempier in Bandol. Lyle spent twelve years in national sales for importer Kermit Lynch before focusing on this project. Eric started Lieu Dit wines in Santa Barbara and owns Verve Wine in New York City and San Francisco. Their first rosé followed the Bandol approach of direct-to-press, vinified and aged in old wood, with malolactic completed. Since partnering with Presqu'ile Winery in Santa Maria, they make their wines using only wild, native yeast fermentation, in small lots of Southern French varieties.
