This is a non-vintage Extra Brut Blanc de Blancs from Champagne, made entirely from Chardonnay. It is a Grand Cru bottling from Champagne Robert Moncuit, labeled Réserve Perpétuelle.
The Moncuit family has farmed vineyards in the Côte des Blancs for generations. They began buying land in 1889 and by 1928 were bottling at the domaine. Pierre Amillet, the fourth generation to lead the winery, focuses on Chardonnay grown in the chalky soils of Le Mesnil. He also has a parcel in Les Chétillons. Their wines reached the United States through an importer who was the first to bring in his bottlings.
